I hope you all had a good Christmas and that the New Year started well!
With all the celebrating though, your body might be crying out for some extra help, which is why I am looking forward to guide you through a classic yoga workshop at this time of the year after the ingestion of festive food and drinks, to help our digestive track, circulation and general well-being, well, back on track. “Detoxification” means the removal of toxins (literally a poisonous substance produced by living cells) from the body and while the body has its natural ways of detoxing, yoga poses can also assist this process.
The Detox Workshop will be held on Saturday 26th January, from 14.00 to 16.00, in the lovely Embody Wellness studio in Vauxhall, a mere couple minutes away from the tube station.
We will start with a presentation explaining the benefits of breathing exercises and twists (expect a fair bit of the latter throughout our Vinyasa Flow practice!), forward bends and inversions in the detoxing process before moving on to putting the theory in practice.
And of course, we can already start helping our bodies out by keeping hydrated, taking it easy on sugar, caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, etc, and focussing on a diet rich in fresh vegetables!
All levels are welcome apart from complete beginners.
The cost of the workshop is £20 for Early Birds up to 19th January and £25 after.
